A renowned Italian composer with an independent label entrusted DECIBEL with designing a state-of-the-art music production studio in Rome. The brief required a completely soundproof environment with exceptional internal sound quality, all while integrating meticulous interior and lighting design to enhance the studio's ambience.

Challenge

The primary challenge was ensuring complete soundproofing to eliminate external noise interference while achieving precise acoustic correction for professional sound monitoring. Additionally, the project demanded a seamless integration of interior and lighting design that complemented the studio's functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Scope of Work

• Design and construction of a fully soundproof recording studio.
• Acoustic correction for recording and listening environments.

Solution

The project began with advanced soundproofing to create an isolated recording space. Acoustic correction followed, using a range of DECIBEL products:

• GLL Textile Panels (60 x 60 cm) with non-linear geometry were installed on the ceiling, framed by dimmable warm LED lights, creating a dynamic aesthetic and enhancing acoustic absorption.
• P Bass Traps (100 x 42 cm) were placed strategically around the listening area, delivering exceptional sound monitoring quality.
• Echo Wall Panels (50 x 50 cm) and Perforated wood WAVO Panels (50 x 50 cm) were installed on walls, their modular design forming an eye-catching wave effect that contributed to sound diffusion and absorption.
